How do we accomplish this ?
Our StudioBall features an oversized 68 mm ball. This larger ball allows for more precise movements, especially important when using a longer lens. All StudioBall's are painstakingly manufactured, in our Swiss factory, to the most Exacting Standards,
utilizing the finest aircraft grade metal alloys.
In order to insure the smoothest possible movement each part is precision engineered, tolerances carefully measured, and anodized for long life. We then hand polished and test each component before and after assembly. Our internal ball rides on a special Dupont Delrin bushings for extra long life and near friction free motion.
While smooth effortless aiming is the goal of any Ballhead the GRAF StudioBall excels - even with heavy medium / large format equipment or when used with super long telephoto lens !
Locking knob
One of the problems with many ballheads is the locking mechanism. It is of the utmost importance to an outdoor or wildlife photographer that the image in the viewfinder, remain stationary, when tightening the locking knob. A simple point, but hard to accomplish.
When using a StudioBall the image remains unchanged - even when using a very long telephoto lens ! Our locking mechanisms features an extra large surface area, internal Delrin/Alloy bezel, that "squeezes" the ball from multiple positions along the circumference, - what does this mean to you . . .
Super smooth pinpoint camera positioning with the ability to manage greater camera weight.
Even the locking knob itself is well thought out.
Extra large, manufactured in Italy, it's easy to lock, yet affords a softer all-weather non slip surface.
